How To Adapt to KVKK?
Last 1 Year Announced Report of KVKK Organization
When we review the statement that KVKK Organization has published as the summary of last 1 year; We see that a fine of 5 million TL has been imposed for the violation of personal data. There has been 5 million TL of fine imposed to the organizations so far due to violation of personal information according to the chairman of The Personal Data Protection Authority(KVKK) Faruk Bilir at a press conference.
1) Use Firewall
You can keep the incoming and outgoing data under control which are on the internet connection is used by performing comprehensive analysis with a properly and correctly structured firewall. So your firewall should be configured on eliminating threats by cutting entry and exit of internet traffic against potential violations. Also preventing your employees access to potentially threatening websites in terms of data security on your internet connection. In the KVKK law, priority measures that can be taken in the protection of information technology systems containing personal data against unauthorized access threats over the internet are listed. These measures specified as firewall usage, network passage usage, usage of logging infrastructure, using antivirus softwares, patch management, software updates and etc.
2) Provide a Secure Password
Also, access to the systems that include personal data should be limited. In this context, employees should be granted access to the extent necessary for their jobs and duties, with their authorities and responsibilities and provide access to the relevant systems by using username and password. While these mentioned passwords are created, combinations of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols should be preferred instead of easily guessed numbers or strings of letters.
3) Get KVKK Support
Also, it is of great importance to get support from the lawyers in your company or consultancy in order to fully fulfill all your responsibilities regarding KVKK and not to have any problems with the process.
